Many people who work hard carry a wall nobody sees. It went up one stone at a time: after a humiliation in a meeting, after being shouted at, ignored, blamed or made small, day after day. The wall kept you going. It let you walk back in every morning.
But a wall doesn't choose what it keeps out. With the hurt, it keeps out warmth, joy and the quiet voice that knows what you want from your life.
These nine chapters walk through it step by step. You see the wall and understand why you built it. You release the anger behind it and the pain beneath the anger. You find what the experience has to teach, and you let it go. Then you let love in, feel alive again, listen to what your soul is calling you toward, and move on with love.
Nothing here says the way you were treated was acceptable, or that you brought it on yourself. Opening your heart doesn't mean dropping your boundaries, and it never means staying where you're being harmed. This is a companion to help from people, not a replacement for it. If you feel overwhelmed, hopeless or unsafe, talk to a doctor, a therapist or someone you trust.
Go slowly, one chapter at a time. Read them after work, not during it.
